In the last week I’ve experienced some of the greatest emotions known to man:
- Happiness
- Sadness
- Elation
- Disappointment
- Drunkenness
- Affection
- Thoughtfulness
The thing about all those feels is that they’ve been brought on and heightened by the people I surround myself. My friends make my boots feel light and like I can on take on the world… or the army of Stannis Lannister.
The other day I purged my room of his existence. Did it hurt? No doubt. I haven’t felt that sad in a long time. I miss what we used to have but I realize that none of it will ever change. I also have come to the realization that I don’t think I’d want you back either way.
While making a box of all your things, I ended up looking through old pictures from the last few years of working at Plan 9. Even though my face scrunched up and tears fell, seeing the faces of the people who truly care about me made everything feel all right. Knowing that these people exist is just enough to make me wake up every morning and do things to the best of my ability because I know that they’re rooting for me. These are the people that I need to concentrate on: their lives, their worries, their problems. Being a good friend to all of them is my goal this summer and the rest of my life.
So this is the first day of my life. I’m just glad that I didn’t die before I met all of you. You are all the reason for my happiness. Don’t go away any time soon.
